Inventory Planning Specialist

As a key member of the inventory management team, you will play a vital role in ensuring that products are efficiently stocked and distributed throughout our vast network.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive sales forecasting models to accurately predict demand.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to reserve inventory and clear backorders in a timely manner.
  • Manage stock transfer orders within Canada to optimize inventory levels and minimize waste.
  • Ensure seamless production and fulfillment processes for industrial print orders.
  • Partner with purchasing teams to track third-party drop ship backorders and ETAs.

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Daily review and analysis of backorder reports for both direct and dealer channels.
  • Close collaboration with supply chain, traffic, and warehouse teams to meet committed delivery dates.
  • Publication of national backorder reports twice weekly and provision of ad hoc updates as needed.

Inventory Optimization:

  • Allocate inventory based on revenue impact, priority, and transportation lead times.
  • Manage batch changes for dealer and direct orders to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Utilize SAP transactions to allocate newly received inventory to backorders across Canada.

New Product Launches:

  • Collaborate with marketing teams to phase out old products and prepare for new launches.
  • Ensure correct SAP batch and plant/storage codes are used for end-of-life items.
  • Support smooth national launches by updating processes and ensuring inventory readiness.

Business Insights:

  • Provide monthly business insights to leadership and finance teams.
  • Deliver accurate inventory analyses to inform marketing and finance decisions.
  • Track key performance indicators including zero end-of-life product inventory, minimized backorders, and excess inventory.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in inventory planning, supply chain, or a related field.
  • Advanced knowledge of SAP inventory and purchasing modules.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills at all organizational levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions.
  • Project management certification (an asset).
