Senior Finance Professional

A leading engineering business is seeking a skilled Senior Finance Professional to drive the financial performance of the company. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the finance function, providing strategic advice and implementing processes to improve efficiency.

About the Role

The Senior Finance Professional will report directly to the Managing Director and will be responsible for:

  • Leading and executing month end and year end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Preparing and submitting statutory financial reports, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and standards.
  • Performing end of month and year end reconciliations, including balance sheet and intercompany accounts.
  • Preparing and lodging BAS, GST and FBT returns, ensuring compliance with all tax obligations and deadlines.
  • Overseeing payroll processing, ensuring compliance with superannuation, payroll tax and employment related financial obligations.
  • Preparing, posting and reviewing journal entries, ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting standards and internal policies.
  • Preparing financial statements, including profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow reports, in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Experience in a similar accounting role, preferably in a senior capacity.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Proficiency with Excel, with familiarity with Pronto being a plus.
