Job Summary

The Environmental Services Assistant plays a crucial role in maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene in operating theatres.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Maintain impeccable standards of cleanliness in all areas, adhering to infection control protocols and best practices.
  • Clean, maintain and store equipment used during shifts in designated storage areas, ensuring optimal functionality.
  • Ensure the safe disposal of waste materials, adhering to environmental regulations and company policies.
  • Develop strong working relationships with nursing staff and other stakeholders to provide exceptional support and care.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and management to ensure seamless operations and high-quality patient outcomes.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Punctuality, reliability and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare environment is advantageous but not essential; however, relevant skills and qualifications are highly valued.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on building strong relationships with colleagues and patients.
  • Compliance with workplace health and safety regulations, as well as infection control protocols.
  • Able to work effectively within a large team, prioritizing tasks and managing workload efficiently.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently, taking initiative and making informed decisions when required.
  • Flexibility to work across a 7-day rotating roster, adapting to changing circumstances and priorities.
