The Role
Our organization is seeking a part-time Peer Worker to support individuals facing mental health challenges through our Your LINC program. As a Peer Worker, you will use your lived experience to promote well-being and facilitate smooth transitions to appropriate services.
Your Responsibilities
- Advocate for individuals by representing their interests and empowering them to advocate for themselves when necessary.
- Utilize knowledge of the NDIS to assist clients in navigating eligibility criteria, accessing services, and facilitating transitions.
- Establish and maintain relationships with local support networks to help clients integrate into their communities and lead fulfilling lives.
- Maintain accurate case notes and efficiently utilize data management systems to track client progress and outcomes.
About You
We are looking for an experienced Peer Support Worker with lived experience in mental health recovery. You should have strong interpersonal skills and ability to make sound decisions under pressure build trust with stakeholders and effectively manage crises.
Qualifications & Experience:
- A Certificate 4 level qualification in Mental Health Peer Work.
- Lived experience of mental health challenges and recovery.
- Demonstrated experience in documenting client case notes and working with electronic databases.
- Great interpersonal and listening skills to build strong relationships with key stakeholders.
- A valid Department of Human Services (DHS) Working with Children Check.
