Job Title: Principal Instrument Designer

Wood is recruiting for a skilled professional to join its team in Perth, Western Australia as part of its Operations APAC West business.

Our company delivers brownfields engineering, procurement, construction, optimisation and technical services to the oil and gas sector, with long-term partnerships with prominent producers.

The successful candidate will act as the Instrument & Control Designer on brownfields oil & gas projects, taking responsibility for design and collaborating with the core design team.

Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of discipline design commitments and requirements on a project
  • Ensure deliverables are consistently checked, accurate and presentable
  • Provide day-to-day services to the project

**Requirements:**
Suitably qualified in Instrument Design Engineering from a recognised institution.

Applicants must be Australian citizens or currently hold Permanent Residency (PR) and able to work lawfully in Australia without company sponsorship.

Key qualifications:

  • Relevant Certificate or industry experience
  • Experience in E3D and/or Navisworks Simulator is advantageous
  • Experience in SPI is essential
  • Ability to interpret and translate engineering concepts into practical designs
  • Professional demeanour and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lead and collaborate in a team environment
  • Willingness to spend time away from office location when necessary
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills
  • Problem-solving mindset and ability to manage competing priorities
