Procurement Specialist Role

The Procurement Specialist sources, negotiates, and procures essential goods and services to support business operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Procurement & Purchasing: Identify suppliers, prepare purchase orders, negotiate prices, terms, and delivery schedules, review and process purchase requisitions, ensure purchases meet regulatory and company standards.
  • Vendor Management: Maintain relationships with suppliers, evaluate and select vendors based on quality, price, reliability, and service, assess vendor performance, and resolve issues.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory records, assist in managing stock, coordinate reordering, track receipt of goods, and document purchases.
  • Cost Control: Monitor spending, implement cost-saving strategies, conduct market research, and identify best prices and value for money.
  • Compliance & Documentation: Ensure purchasing activities comply with internal policies and external regulations, keep accurate records of all purchases.
  • Reporting: Prepare regular reports on procurement activities, stock levels, and supplier performance, provide updates on cost-saving opportunities and procurement issues, report discrepancies and work with suppliers to resolve them.
  • Problem-Solving & Issue Resolution: Address and resolve issues with suppliers, liaise with relevant departments to ensure timely resolution of procurement-related problems.
