About You

To be successful in this role, you will possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to problem-solve, resolve conflicts and negotiate. You will also have experience working in a stressful and complex environment, with a demonstrated resilience and ability to manage multiple priorities.

About the Role

The Leisure and Lifestyle Assistant will be responsible for delivering leisure recreational activities and one-on-one individualised programmes under the guidance of the Nurse Unit Manager. You will contribute to the development and implementation of lifestyle programmes aiming to achieve positive outcomes for older people affected by mental illness or disorder.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maximise the well-being of older people their families and carers whose day-to-day lives are affected by mental illness or disorder.
  • Implement individually focused and group leisure and lifestyle programmes.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to resident-centred care delivering reviewing and documenting the needs and progress of all residents.
  • Collaborate with families visitors and other providers to support resident activities.

Requirements:

  • Possession of Certificate 3 in Allied Health Assistance or equivalent qualification.
  • Ability to work part-time hours.
  • Compliance with relevant immunisation policies.
