
Senior Credit Risk Model Governance Specialist

Role Overview
This role is integral to the development and maintenance of a robust credit risk model governance framework within a collaborative team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and maintain 'best practice' risk management for ongoing credit risk (retail & non-retail) models.
- Engage with various stakeholders to stay up-to-date with recent developments across the group, including credit risk modellers, product risk managers, data and system teams, project teams, independent model validators, regulatory affairs teams, and group risk governance teams.
- Ensure core modelling data is managed and maintained in compliance with business requirements and APRA's Data Management Framework (e.g. CPG235).
- Facilitate regular forums and reviews of model monitoring outcomes.
- Enhance the existing model monitoring framework by adopting BitBucket and Tableau.
- Collaborate on efficient and robust data transitions from warehouse to discovery environment to production environment.
- Track risk issues and resolutions, recommending remedial action to address marginal or unsatisfactory model performance.
- Deliver data requests and supporting analysis required for APRA annual IRB validation.
Requirements
- 3+ years experience in credit risk analytics/management, with detailed understanding of data management, business and consumer portfolios across brands, systems, and data.
- Strong analytical skills, with an understanding of analytics, models, and data to facilitate effective credit risk management.
- Ability to identify new opportunities to enhance business processes through statistical models and tools.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with a strong ability to learn and adapt.
- Tertiary qualifications (Quantitative, Actuarial, Statistics, or other relevant degrees) or equivalent business experience.
- Technical proficiency in SAS programming, SQL, R, Excel with VBA, Word, PowerPoint, Bitbucket, and Tableau.
