About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Asset Data Governance Officer to join our dynamic Infrastructure Strategy Branch - Asset Data and Management team at the City of Ipswich.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with key asset management, information technology, and communications team members to establish strong asset data and information governance practices.
  • Develop and maintain asset and/or spatial (GIS) data schema and specifications.
  • Establish data quality standards for GIS datasets and monitor data accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to promote GIS awareness and usage.
  • Develop and implement data modelling, geodatabases, cartography, and spatial analysis techniques.
Requirements
  • Substantial experience working with GIS software (e.g., Esri Enterprise, Esri ArcGIS, QGIS) and databases.
  • Strong asset data and information knowledge and experience.
  • Demonstrated commitment to collaborative and consultative ways of working.
  • Engaging and innovative communication skills.
  • Ability to train and coach others in best practice asset data and information management.
