About the Job

This position involves performing various Transfusion laboratory investigations and tests, applying established methods and procedures. Additionally, you will undertake technical tasks, including blood fridge checks, blood stock inventory management, and equipment maintenance.

  • Conduct manual and automated Transfusion laboratory investigations and tests.
  • Undertake other laboratory duties, such as blood fridge checks and blood stock inventory management.
  • Maintain equipment according to established laboratory processes and protocols.
Requirements
  • Hold a minimum qualification of Diploma in Laboratory Technology or an equivalent qualification from a recognised tertiary institution.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in delivering pathology services within a Transfusion Laboratory environment.
  • Able to work efficiently and effectively, managing competing priorities to meet deadlines.
  • Developed interpersonal skills and good oral and written communication skills.
  • Display initiative, problem-solving, and analytical skills, with the ability to apply established principles in a pathology laboratory.
  • Commitment to quality management and continuous quality improvement.

The successful candidate will be part of a dedicated team at Royal North Shore Hospital, working closely with passionate staff members.
