Electrical Rolling Stock Design Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Rolling Stock Design Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will provide expert guidance and support to our rolling stock design efforts.

Your primary focus will be on the design and development of electrical systems for rolling stock, including traction motors, instrumentation, pantographs, converters, and control systems. You will work closely with our internal teams to ensure that our designs meet the required rail and safety standards.

To succeed in this role, you will need to have a strong background in electrical engineering, specifically in the design and manufacture of rolling stock or electrical auxiliaries. You should also have experience with CAD software and be familiar with rail industry regulations and standards.

In addition to your technical expertise, you will play a key role in mentoring and guiding our junior engineers, as well as engaging with internal stakeholders and customers.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • ">
  • Electrical Engineering Degree">
  • CPEng, RPEQ or MIEAust membership preferable (you must at least be eligible)">
  • Experience in the design and manufacture or retrofit of rolling stock or electrical auxiliaries, such as traction motors, instrumentation, pantographs, converters, control systems and supporting electrical infrastructure related to the trains">
  • CAD experience">
  • Familiar with rail standards, such as EN, RISSB and AS/NZ">
