Job Summary

The Project Manager will play a key role in the planning, development, and implementation of projects within the School of the Arts & Media. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of managing complex projects, working effectively with stakeholders, and delivering results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the delivery of projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Develop and implement project plans, including project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Manage project dependencies, risks, issues, and change requests, and work with the project team to ensure appropriate arrangements are in place.
  • Partner with the project team and key stakeholders to plan and monitor progress, identifying problems and proposing possible solutions.
  • Manage the reporting of projects to UNSW Australia and the Australian Research Data Commons.
  • Organise the governance processes of projects, including preparing meeting papers and minutes for the steering committee.
  • Oversee and finalise effective communications with key stakeholders, both internal and external to the project.

Requirements

  • Relevant tertiary qualification with subsequent relevant experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Proven project management experience, with an in-depth understanding of the project life cycle and strategic development of project plans, objectives, and documentation.
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail for deliverables produced.
  • Demonstrated success working effectively and collaboratively on initiatives with a range of people at different levels within an organisation.
  • Proven experience effectively managing complex project stakeholder relationships.
  • Extensive experience dealing with academics and managing projects within the academic sphere.
  • Knowledge of budgeting and resource allocation procedures.
  • Experience managing publicly funded projects, handling public money, and managing the associated reporting requirements.
  • Previous experience working with Indigenous communities to successfully deliver projects would be advantageous.
  • High level of experience working with a range of computer systems and applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and productively within a team, but also to take initiative and work independently while managing competing demands.
