Senior Regulatory Analyst

This role is within the Market Management group which includes metering, settlement and prudential functions for gas and electricity markets spanning multiple regions. The position requires collaboration with internal stakeholders and industry participants to ensure operational processes are aligned and executed in accordance with market rules.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to drive process design and tool development.
  • Conduct research and analysis to inform regulatory submissions and market consultations.
  • Ensure compliance with market rules and regulations through proactive monitoring of internal operations.
Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop and implement systems and processes that enhance operational efficiency.
  • Support the delivery of industry reform projects by interpreting market rules and developing solutions.
  • Represent the organization at industry forums and present AEMO positions on regulatory matters.
Requirements
  • Mandatory degree qualification in a relevant field (economics, commerce, finance or information systems).
  • Strong related work experience in the energy sector, with consideration given to relevant commercial, regulatory or legal experience in related industries.
  • Excellent written interpretation and problem-solving skills, with an ability to draw and articulate conclusions from a range of data and rule inputs.
  • Sound understanding of energy market structure, including knowledge of settlement or prudentials processes.
