Maintenance Fitter Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Fitter to join our team in Murarrie. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing equipment to ensure smooth and efficient production operations.

This hands-on role involves performing preventative and reactive maintenance on production equipment, troubleshooting and repairing mechanical faults to minimise downtime, and conducting regular equipment inspections to ensure reliability and safety.

The successful candidate will have trade qualifications as a Fitter or Mechanical Engineer and previous experience in a high-volume manufacturing or food processing environment. Strong mechanical aptitude with problem-solving skills is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventative and reactive maintenance on production equipment
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical faults to minimise downtime
  • Conduct regular equipment inspections to ensure reliability and safety
  • Assist with plant upgrades, installations, and modifications
  • Collaborate with production teams to resolve mechanical issues
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and parts used
  • Follow workplace health and safety standards at all times
What We Are Looking For

- Trade qualification as a Fitter or Mechanical Engineer (essential)

- Previous experience in a high-volume manufacturing or food processing environment (preferred)

- Strong mechanical aptitude with problem-solving skills

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

- High attention to detail and commitment to safety

- Experience with pneumatic and hydraulic systems (desirable)
