Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Track Work Supervisor to join our team at Lark Hill. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of track work activities, while also enforcing the Rules of Racing and regulations applicable to track work and trials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enforce Rules and Regulations at track work and trials, and take appropriate action when necessary
  • Collect and analyze data relating to track use by trainers
  • Process track fees and ensure accurate accounting
  • Instruct trainers and jockeys on track rules and regulations
  • Conduct regular inspections of the track to ensure safety and compliance
  • Brief new track riders on track safety and rules
  • Report any safety issues or concerns to the Track Manager/Curator
  • Ensure all users of the site are familiar with track rules and regulations
  • Report any breaches of the Rules of Racing and Lark Hill Track rules to Stewards/Racing Integrity
  • Assist with branding and markings on trial days
  • Coordinate fast work and jump outs on trial days
  • Provide first aid assistance as needed
  • Assist in any horse-related incidents or injuries

About You:

  • Experience in horse handling and management
  • Knowledge of horse gear and equipment
  • Understanding of the Rules of Racing and track regulations
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Basic computer literacy skills
  • Current 'C' class driver's licence
  • Current Senior First Aid Certificate
  • Completion of Year 10
