Library Services Coordinator

We are seeking a forward-thinking and dynamic individual to lead our Library Services Unit.

This leadership position will play a key role in designing and delivering a modern, inclusive, and community-focused library network that reflects the needs and aspirations of our diverse population.

The successful candidate will guide the strategic planning, development, and operation of our library services and infrastructure, working closely with internal and external stakeholders, managing a team of passionate staff and volunteers, and overseeing capital works and policy implementation to ensure our libraries are vibrant, welcoming, and fit for the future.

  • Develop and implement strategic plans for the growth and development of our library services and infrastructure.
  • Manage a high-performing team of library staff and volunteers, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective delivery of library services.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including community groups, schools, and other organizations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the strategic planning, development, and operation of our library services and infrastructure.

• Manage a team of passionate staff and volunteers.

• Oversee capital works and policy implementation.

• Work closely with internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

• Tertiary qualification in at least one of the following fields – Libraries, Information Sciences, Management, or equivalent experience in related fields.

• Experience at a high level in managing a business with a key focus on customer service, human resources, marketing, facility, and project management.

• Working with children Suitability Card (Blue Card) or ability to obtain.

• Understanding of key trends relative to Library Services and broader industry and their implications to Local Government and the community.

• Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, demonstrating the ability to garner support and commitment to a project or concept.

• Demonstrated ability to manage and motivate a creative and flexible work team.
