Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and conduct effective administrative support to the Detector Dog Program and Technical Support to Operations branch management teams.
  • Conduct and manage procurement activities for goods and services for the Detector Dog Program.
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders nationally across the Detector Dog Program and partner agencies.
  • Participate in Detector Dog Program meetings, briefings, and reference groups, including taking minutes.
  • Coordinate and contribute to the maintenance of policies, procedures, and documentation of databases.
  • Manage direct reports to ensure they are supported and provided with the required performance, development, and career guidance.
  • Monitor team performance, provide constructive feedback, and recognize and address performance issues when appropriate.
  • Work in collaboration with the Detector Dog Program Support team in planning.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement within the area.
  • Actively contribute to a positive work culture and support changing circumstances and organizational focus.
  • Apply strong research, governance, and project management skills to support the effective function of Detector Dog Program operations.
  • Assist with facility management, reporting, and maintenance issues, including official events and ceremony coordination and logistics.
  • Support the management, security, and governance of Detector Dog Program training aids across all detector dog capabilities, including undertaking training aid audits as required.

The successful candidate will be required to obtain and maintain a Baseline Vetting (AGSVA) security clearance and an Employment Suitability Clearance (ESC).
