Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Swim School Instructor to join our team at Canterbury Bankstown Council. As a Swim School Instructor, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality swimming lessons to children and adults at our multi-venue programs. You will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on our community and help people learn the lifesaving skill of swimming.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver swimming lessons in accordance with Council's Swim School Instructor Manual
  • Ensure the safe setup and packing up of equipment
  • Participate in Swim School Team Member in-house training

Requirements:
  • Ability to swim 25m Freestyle, 25m Backstroke, and 25m Breaststroke
  • Teaching experience in a group class environment
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and time management skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Current Working With Children Check Clearance number
  • Current Swim Teacher accreditation from Royal Life Saving, Swim Australia, AustSwim, or other recognised licence provider
  • Current CPR certificate
  • COVIDSafe Requirements: 3 COVID-19 vaccinations for candidates 18yrs and above, 2 COVID-19 vaccinations for candidates under 18yrs with booster upon turning 18

Remuneration:
  • $35/hour + 10.5% super
  • Penalty rates earned on weekends
  • Ability to apply for higher hourly pay rate after 12 months of employment
