Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Health Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Health Practitioner to join our research team, dedicated to improving ear health outcomes for children in hospital. The successful candidate will work closely with First Nations colleagues to provide culturally appropriate support and health education.
Key Responsibilities:
- To conduct clinical assessments, collect data and samples as directed by the Team Leader.
- To approach and yarn with families on the hospital wards to assess their suitability and ensure a full understanding of the study requirements.
- To conduct follow up visits in the hospital, clinic, community, and at home, with occasional travel to remote communities via light aircraft or 4WD.
About You:
- You hold current registration as an Aboriginal Health Practitioner with extensive experience working with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander clients in a medical field.
- You have experience working in paediatric or child health in a hospital or health service setting and working with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander colleagues.
- You possess excellent communication skills and the ability to approach families on the hospital wards to assess their suitability and provide clear information about the study.
