We are seeking a highly motivated Sales and Marketing Executive to join our pre-opening team at Crowne Plaza Melbourne Carlton. This exciting opportunity is ideal for individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and have a passion for hospitality.

The Conference and Events Sales Executive will be responsible for undertaking daily sales activities, planning and undertaking work, and working proactively with hotel and cluster hotel colleagues to ensure hotel revenue goals are achieved.

The successful candidate will have a bachelor's degree in business development or a related field, previous experience in a hospitality or hotel business development sales and marketing setting, strong knowledge of local businesses and business trends, and sound IT skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake daily sales activities, plan and undertake work, working proactively with hotel and cluster hotel colleagues ensuring hotel revenue goals are achieved.
  • Champion a great working environment for teams to thrive – connect departments to create a sense of one team.
  • Interact with outside contacts: guests, vendors, and other contacts as needed.
  • Develop and maintain great working relationships with key clients and outside contacts to increase revenue.

Financial

  • Hit all personal/team sales goals and maximize profitability.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial plans including the hotel marketing plan.
  • Implement sales plans that drive measurable incremental occupancy, increase average rates, increase volume, food and beverage and banquet sales.
  • Assist in the production of monthly reports and sales forecasts to analyze current/potential market and sales trends.
  • Help create and develop special events and sales campaigns to showcase the hotel to potential clients.
  • Attend trade shows, industry events and major market events locally and nationally to promote new business.

Guest Experience

  • Provide guests with information (example: loyalty programmes, area attractions, restaurants, facility information) to enhance guest experience.
  • Coordinate scheduling of conferencing and/or group accommodation at the hotel and coordinate with other departments to deliver services and events.
