Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Finance Professional to join our organisation in a key accounting role. As Principal Finance Accounting, you will play a vital part in providing technical guidance to stakeholders, analysing business initiatives, and reviewing complex accounting areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert accounting guidance to stakeholders to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards
  • Analyse business initiatives and proposals to identify accounting requirements and risks associated with implementation
  • Review and assess complex accounting areas, including closure and rehabilitation, deferred stripping, inventory valuation, and impairment assessment
  • Develop and manage high-quality accounting treatment papers to support complex accounting matters
  • Coordinate and review reporting deliverables, including financial statements, external briefing papers, and statutory accounts for lodgement

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce
  • Professional qualification (CA/CPA or equivalent) completion
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a large corporate or professional environment, preferably within the mining and resources or oil and gas industries

About You

We are looking for an individual with strong technical financial accounting expertise, including IFRS knowledge, reporting experience, and accounting skills within the specified industries. A background in Big four audit firms or large corporate audits would be advantageous.
