About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Commis Chef to join our culinary team at Hilton Hotels. As a Commis Chef, you will play a vital role in preparing and presenting high-quality dishes to deliver an exceptional Guest and Member experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and present high-quality dishes to the highest standards, ensuring consistency and attention to detail.
- Contribute to kitchen revenue through effective food cost control and efficient menu planning.
- Support the kitchen brigade in maintaining a clean and organized working environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Assist in the preparation of mis-en-place for all relevant menus, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
- Collaborate with other departments to provide exceptional service and maintain good working relationships.
- Report any maintenance, hygiene, or hazard issues to ensure a safe working environment.
- Comply with hotel security, fire regulations, and all health and safety and food safety legislation.
- Aware of departmental targets and strive to achieve them as part of the team.
- Meet all health and hygiene requirements and maintain a high level of personal hygiene.
- Be environmentally aware and contribute to sustainable practices in the kitchen.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Commis Chef or Apprentice Chef, with a passion for culinary arts and a drive to succeed.
- Positive attitude, good communication skills, and the ability to work under pressure.
- Proven ability to work with a team and follow instruction, with a passion for learning and growth.
- Proof of completion in a basic food hygiene course and a passion for food and the culinary arts.
- Completion of an accredited commercial cookery course or trade apprenticeship, with experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Ability to multitask and work in an environment with rigorous standards.
