Field Operator

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Field Operator to join our team. As a Field Operator, you will be responsible for the safe operation of vehicles and plant, transporting persons, equipment, and materials.

You will plan, prioritize, and coordinate your work, which may include road maintenance, concrete maintenance, and drainage maintenance. You will also supervise others when required or as directed.

This role requires ongoing training and rotation within the city to develop and maintain the required skills and competencies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate Council's vehicles and plant safely and efficiently
  • Transport persons, equipment, and materials
  • Plan, prioritize, and coordinate work
  • Supervise others when required or as directed
  • Complete all duties associated with the safe operation of vehicles and plant

Requirements:

  • Current Class MR licence
  • Relevant current Plant Operator Statements of Attainment / Verification of Competency
  • Substantial experience in civil work labouring activities
  • Current Traffic Control Blue Ticket or willingness to obtain one
  • Knowledge of all aspects of operation and maintenance of tipping trucks and trailers including loading, securing and unloading
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to be self-directed and undertake a leadership role when required
  • Work safely in the Construction Industry (White) Card
  • Knowledge of and commitment to WHS and EEO principles
