Job Title:

We are seeking a skilled Valve Technician to join our workshop team in Melbourne. This role involves servicing and repairing valves, as well as performing diagnostic testing and assembly.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity for a mechanical trade qualified professional to work with control valves and regulators. The successful candidate will have experience with PSVs, Actuated Isolation Valves, and associated instrumentation.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Servicing and repairing valves in the workshop and on site
  • Repairing and calibrating valves according to manufacturers procedures and client instructions
  • Determining parts required for repairs
  • Performing diagnostic testing as needed
  • Assembling and calibrating new equipment as required by sales department
  • Mechanical testing including hydrostatic and high-pressure gas testing, and repair and test safety relief valves using a relief valve test stand
  • Applying NATA guidelines as required
  • Maintaining test equipment
  • Reassembling and testing to appropriate standards
  • Ensuring safe and accurate testing according to WPC work instructions
  • Providing print outs and written reports of valve conditions
  • Built and tested automation brackets and fittings
  • Assisting customers with pre-commissioning in workshop
  • Following commissioning procedures to test equipment
  • Providing guidance and instructions to WPC apprentices
Requirements:
  • Trade qualification in Mechanical Fitter, Instrumentation or Electrical
  • Experience with control valves and regulators, PSVs, Actuated Isolation Valves and associated instrumentation
  • A 'mechanical' mindset with ability to take things apart and put them back together
  • Understanding and knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulic systems
  • Flexibility to undertake site work and travel for work when required
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Certificate IV in Instrumentation
  • Restricted or Unrestricted Electrical Licence
