Digital Collections Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Digital Archives Assistant to join our team and contribute to the preservation and presentation of our rich collections.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will have applied knowledge of international standards and good practice relating to preservation of digital materials, including metadata, file formats and technical specifications.
They will also have demonstrated capacity to work effectively with software and hardware tools used in digital preservation workflows, across multiple operating systems and through the command line.
Furthermore, the ideal candidate will have demonstrated ability to research and resolve technical issues relating to software and hardware tools from the 1980s to present day.
Key Responsibilities- Support workflows and processes for the acquisition and ongoing stewardship of born-digital collections
- Work with legacy computers and digital carriers, including floppy disks and optical media
To be successful in this role, you will have relevant tertiary qualifications and/or demonstrated experience managing born-digital collections.
