Senior Program Manager

About this role:

The Office for Early Childhood Development has formed a strategic initiative to drive early childhood reform in South Australia. As a key member of the team, you will engage with stakeholders and lead collaborative efforts across teams to maximise delivery outcomes.

This role offers the opportunity to influence change, promote best practices, and ensure the successful implementation of high-impact programs. You will work closely with senior executives and stakeholders to develop and implement enterprise-wide initiatives that support an agency approach to government reform.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage state-wide initiatives through the coordination and facilitation of projects and programs across the agency.
  • Embed best practice project management by championing agile approaches and refining methodologies.
  • Foster collaboration by identifying interdependencies and driving new ways of working to enhance project delivery and strategic alignment.
  • Provide support, coaching, and advice to support capability building and enhance team planning, implementation, and evaluation.

Requirements:

  • Program & project management expertise - Proven experience managing multiple complex projects simultaneously using contemporary methodologies.
  • Enable enterprise collaboration - Experience connecting initiatives across the agency, identifying interdependencies, and driving new ways of working to achieve organisational objectives.
  • Governance & evaluation - Strong skills in program governance, reporting, evaluation, and risk management.
  • Stakeholder management - Strong interpersonal skills including experience building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Communication skills - High-level verbal and written communication, with the ability to convey complex information across a wide range of audiences.
