Freelance Technical Studio Broadcast Operator

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Freelance Technical Studio Broadcast Operator to join our team in Sydney. As a Freelance Technical Studio Broadcast Operator, you will be responsible for setting up and checking the studio set and control room for live broadcasting, handling live studio logistics, and ensuring the smooth execution of live and pre-taped studio productions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and check the studio set and control room for live broadcasting
  • Handle live studio logistics, including moving cameras and setting up the set
  • Check and put microphones on talent and guests
  • Move talent and guests onto and off set
  • Relay instructions effectively between control room, directors, producers, and studio floor using a talkback system
  • Be responsible for correct lighting cues
  • Keep the Director and Producer informed of action off-camera
  • Implement and adhere to health and safety regulations
  • Liaise with other Bloomberg offices and affiliates to organize and allocate studio resources for live and pre-taped shoots outside of regular programming

Requirements:

  • Experience working in a live TV studio or theatre stage environment
  • Excellent track record of strong visual creativity
  • Ability to react and adapt quickly and decisively in a fast-changing environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively with senior news editors, producers, directors, managers, and clients
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Fully fluent in English is a requirement
