Job Title: Senior Financial Director

About the Role:

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Financial Director to lead our financial strategy and development. This role involves creating long-term financial plans that ensure our organisation's sustainability and excellent community outcomes.

The successful candidate will have primary responsibility for planning, implementing, managing, and controlling all administrative, financial, and associated risk management activities. As a leader of our finances, you will provide critical financial information to inform decision-making.

This is a strategic leadership position that includes:

  • Strategic planning and financial innovation
  • Value capture accounting and forecasting
  • Job costing and asset management
  • Leveraging external funding sources
  • Deal analysis and negotiations
  • Partnership development and management

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Proven experience in a CFO or Senior Finance Executive position
  • Well-developed knowledge of applicable legislative frameworks
  • Experience with the Authority platform (powered by Civica) is highly regarded
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and Financial Reporting by Local Governments (AAS27)
  • Significant leadership experience and substantial depth and range of financial management, preferably in a local government environment
  • Demonstrated experience of providing strategic advice and recommendations to executive leadership and Council to set financial direction and implementation
