Role Overview

City of Newcastle is seeking a Commissionaire (Security) to join our Civic Services team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering events and taking the lead role of event delivery and venue operations during functions where a Duty Manager is not rostered on.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage event delivery and venue operations within City Hall, levels 1 and 6 of 12 Stewart Avenue, Fort Scratchley Function Centre and event / meeting spaces in other locations as required.
  • Deliver events and take the lead role of event delivery and venue operations during functions where a Duty Manager is not rostered on.
  • Provide exceptional customer service throughout the running of events.
  • Set up events, including audio-visual and staging.
  • Provide cleaning and venue presentation services.
  • Undertake routine maintenance activities.
  • Provide all required event and security support for civic events such as Council Meetings and Citizenship Ceremonies.
