Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced senior speech pathologist to fill a critical role in our multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate will provide high-quality speech pathology assessment and intervention to patients in an acute environment.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and skilled speech pathologist to make a positive impact on patient outcomes and contribute to the growth and development of our department.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Providing evidence-based speech pathology assessment and intervention to adults with swallowing and communication disorders in the acute setting.
  2. Developing positive working relationships with medical officers, nursing staff, allied health professionals, and other staff members.
  3. Participating in educational support to patients, their significant others, supervision, quality improvement, and professional development.
Selection Criteria
  1. Extensive clinical knowledge and experience in assessment and treatment of adults with swallowing and communication disorders in the acute setting.
  2. Demonstrated ability to work autonomously with independent professional judgment and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  3. Demonstrated ability to prioritise and manage workload demands, meet deadlines, and complete activities within scope of practice.
  4. Experience in development, leadership, and implementation of quality improvement projects.
  5. Previous supervision +/- leadership experience.
  6. Demonstrated effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills across all levels.
  7. Commitment to ongoing professional development and evidence-based practice.
