Role Overview

The Achieve Group seeks a skilled Communications Specialist to support the Stakeholder Management Business Unit. This internal contractor position is crucial for providing communications advice and support to regional staff, focusing on researching and drafting responses to ministerial and executive correspondence.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide timely communications advice and support to regional staff.
• Coordinate, research, draft, and edit communications materials, including ministerial and executive correspondence, briefing notes, media statements, responses to media inquiries and parliamentary business, and online engagement and newsletters.
• Facilitate community engagement and stakeholder consultations during project development.
• Maintain and update regional webpages to ensure relevance.
• Offer training and support to enhance communication skills among regional staff and consultants.

Requirements

• Degree in communications, public relations, journalism, or marketing (preferred).
• Proven background in stakeholder management and communication roles, with exceptional written and verbal communication abilities, strong research and drafting skills, and ability to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders.
• Familiarity with community engagement practices and media relations. IAP2 certification in Engagement is a plus.
• Excellent time management and ability to handle multiple priorities, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and managing evolving issues.
• Collaborative mindset with a willingness to support colleagues and contribute to team goals. Competence in digital communication tools and web content management.
