Job Summary

The Youth Development Officer plays a pivotal role in fostering a culture of inclusivity and diversity within the organisation.

They are responsible for providing guidance and support to young individuals subject to a youth justice intervention, working closely with the Program Coordinator/Team Coordinator to deliver high-quality services in accordance with relevant legislative provisions and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering core programs to support and reinforce the Service Response Plan as developed by Youth Justice Caseworkers. This includes:

  • Providing supervision and support to young people, ensuring delivery of high-quality services in accordance with contemporary best practices.
  • Consulting and negotiating with stakeholders to design, implement, and enhance access to services for young people.
  • Developing knowledge relevant to the role and participating in learning and development processes.
  • Preparing and maintaining accessible case records to assist service response planning and reviews.
  • Assisting in developing weekly rosters of work for young people and conducting regular audits of service delivery sites and program equipment.
