
Youth Development Officer

The Youth Development Officer plays a pivotal role in fostering a culture of inclusivity and diversity within the organisation.
They are responsible for providing guidance and support to young individuals subject to a youth justice intervention, working closely with the Program Coordinator/Team Coordinator to deliver high-quality services in accordance with relevant legislative provisions and best practices.
- Cultural Capability:
- Demonstrate cultural awareness and understanding to ensure an inclusive environment that aligns with human rights principles and supports departmental programs and community partnerships.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering core programs to support and reinforce the Service Response Plan as developed by Youth Justice Caseworkers. This includes:
- Providing supervision and support to young people, ensuring delivery of high-quality services in accordance with contemporary best practices.
- Consulting and negotiating with stakeholders to design, implement, and enhance access to services for young people.
- Developing knowledge relevant to the role and participating in learning and development processes.
- Preparing and maintaining accessible case records to assist service response planning and reviews.
- Assisting in developing weekly rosters of work for young people and conducting regular audits of service delivery sites and program equipment.
This is a part-time position that requires strong interpersonal and communication skills. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop their skills and knowledge in youth justice and contribute to a culturally capable and inclusive organisation.
