Category Optimization Specialist

This role focuses on developing and executing comprehensive category strategies to optimize supply chain performance. As a Category Optimization Specialist, you will be responsible for driving procurement excellence and ensuring that the organization's needs are met through effective supplier management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement category strategies that align with business objectives
  • Manage supplier relationships and negotiate contracts to ensure optimal pricing and service levels
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements
  • Provide procurement support to the business in the Authority for Expenditure process
  • Ensure all health, safety, quality and environmental standards and legislation are strictly met, ensuring a safe environment for employees, customers, contractors and visitors
Qualifications:
  • Tertiary qualification in business / commerce or related field preferred
Experience:
  • Significant experience in procurement or a related field
  • Proven track record of delivering cost savings and process improvements
Skills:
  • Strategic thinking and planning
  • Excellent communication and collaboration
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant procurement software
  • Demonstrated high level self-organisational skills
