CG Environment Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled CG Environment Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in photo-realistic, traditional, and digital art skills with an emphasis on landscapes.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Create high-quality computer graphics within a shot using a variety of software programs.
  2. Participate as a team member in determining various aesthetic solutions.
  3. Provide feedback to other members of the production by attending dailies on a regular basis.
  4. Mentor Apprentice and Jr. Artists and assist them with their shots.
  5. Work to meet defined milestones within a timeline.
  6. Source suitable reference materials for required assets.
  7. Attend dailies and participate in creative problem-solving.
  8. Responsible for creating original 2D and 3D content that may comprise part or all of an environment.
  9. Create multiple types of mattes from simple to moderately difficult and allocate detail based on the shot and feedback.
  10. Creates maps in 2D and sets up basic shaders for look development.
  11. Creates basic lighting setups in complex shaders that look convincing and render efficiently.

Requirements:

  1. Proven ability in one or more CG techniques, including modeling, texturing, shading, lighting, look development, or compositing.
  2. High level of problem-solving or creative thinking skills.
  3. Fluent in Photoshop.
  4. Fluent in Houdini, 3dsmax, Maya or similar.
  5. Fluent in Vray or MRay or similar ray trace renderer.
  6. Comparable software experience considered.
  7. Degree or 3-5 years relevant experience in one or more of the following fields: Computer Graphics, Fine Arts, Design or Photography.
