Job Description

The Application Packager plays a pivotal role in our organisation, working closely with application owners and vendors to develop, integrate, implement, and create associated documentation for application packages.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for packaging applications for use on physical and non-persistent virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) platforms. You will undertake problem diagnoses, correction, and escalated support of application packages, assuming ownership of incidents, problems, or enquiries through to resolution.

Additionally, you will assist with Windows 11 SOE deployment and troubleshooting, working within Change Management guidelines and the ITIL framework.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Scripting: Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell or Visual Basic is essential.
  • Windows Operating Systems: Competence in Windows 10, Office 365, Edge Chromium, SCCM, and VMware is required.
  • Application Packaging: Ability to package applications using thick (MSI) and thin (AppV) distribution methods.
  • Legacy Application Compatibility: Knowledge of legacy Windows application compatibility issues migrating to Windows 10/IE 11, OS deployment issues.
