Job Overview

This role is for a registered nurse who will provide specialized care to newborns in a neonatal intensive care unit environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing, planning, delivering and evaluating care to critically ill newborns while working collaboratively with families and healthcare teams.

They will also apply evidence-based practice to deliver safe and effective care, develop advanced clinical skills through structured mentorship and supervision, and strengthen clinical decision-making and technical proficiency in neonatal care.

Responsibilities
  • Provide specialized nursing care to critically ill newborns in a NICU environment
  • Work collaboratively with families and healthcare teams to support neonatal health outcomes
  • Apply evidence-based practice to deliver safe and effective care
  • Develop advanced clinical skills through structured mentorship and supervision
  • Strengthen clinical decision-making and technical proficiency in neonatal care
Requirements
  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse Division 1 with AHPRA
  • Extensive neonatal experience across SCN, HDU, and NICU settings
  • Postgraduate certificate completed or in progress in neonatal nursing
  • Strong clinical reasoning and critical thinking skills in high-pressure neonatal scenarios
  • Committed to delivering high-quality, compassionate, and evidence-based care with empathy
  • Works collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams to achieve optimal patient outcome
  • Exceptional communication skills— Clearly and empathetically communicates complex clinical information
  • Passionate advocate for neonatal patients and their families
