This is a key position in our organization where you will lead a team of professionals responsible for managing procurement and material management activities.
- Lead a team to ensure efficient processes and effective utilization of resources.
- Monitor and report on sustaining activities, projects, and customer service levels, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality services.
- Perform supervisory responsibilities, including talent management, training, and certifications, as well as work assignments, scheduling leave, and monitoring attendance.
- Ensure adherence to established procedures and work instructions.
- Manage the issuance of company tooling to technical staff and handle the transportation of goods in and out of the facility.
- Oversee sourcing and vendor selection for aircraft parts, components, materials, and related services, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Administer vendor and carrier contracts to guarantee the provision of agreed-upon services and products.
- Research and resolve invoice discrepancies, errors, and payment issues promptly.
- Maintain relationships with vendors and carriers, discussing and resolving performance issues related to delivery, quality, and quantity, and measuring their performance.
- Ensure the timely receipt and storage of parts, materials, and tooling needed to service customer aircraft.
- Monitor and escalate material-related delivery issues or component discrepancies to the Operations Manager that impact timely maintenance and aircraft return to service.
- Effectively manage stock and inventory issues.
- Navigate SAP to input and retrieve data for inventory management and tracking.
- Negotiate delivery schedules and performance metrics with internal and external suppliers.
- Understand CASA regulations applicable to export shipments.
- Awareness of freight and shipping courier services.
- Knowledge of cycle count, perpetual, and work-in-progress inventory audits.
- Bachelor's degree in Purchasing and/or Inventory Management or relevant working experience.
- Previous experience leading a large workforce with 5 years' experience.
- Knowledge and experience of logistics processes.
- Training in 'Road Transport/Awareness ADR' (Dangerous Goods) or willingness to undertake the training.
