Position Overview:

Our client is in search of a Laboratory Technician to support the Performance testing of yeast on a part-time basis, specifically for a three-day work week totaling 22.5 hours. This role will commence on a casual contract for 12 months, with the potential for permanent employment based on mutual satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct routine laboratory assessments of both dry and wet yeast utilizing various laboratory instruments and equipment.
  • Prepare dough mixtures for yeast testing purposes.
  • Document and communicate test findings effectively.
  • Ensure testing adheres to established standards and protocols.
  • Maintain consistency in accuracy, quality, and timely completion of tasks.
  • Engage in productivity enhancement initiatives within the laboratory.
  • Comply with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Foster positive interactions with other departments as necessary.
Essential Work Schedule:
  • Mandatory working days include Wednesday and Thursday.
  • One additional day from Monday, Tuesday, or Friday (flexible based on requirements).
  • Start time is 8:30 AM, with flexibility up to 10:00 AM to accommodate personal commitments.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
  • Detail-oriented individual with a strong focus on quality and effective communication skills.
  • Proactive, well-organized, and meticulous in approach.
  • Previous experience in a regulated environment is advantageous, although comprehensive training will be provided.
  • Possesses relevant qualifications in laboratory/science or a related field.
  • Understanding of Quality Assurance, Quality Control, and NATA standards is beneficial.
  • Minimum educational requirement: Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques.
  • Proficient computer skills and a willingness to learn.
  • A collaborative team player.
  • On-site parking available.
  • Accessible via public transport.
