Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to kickstart your career in laboratory technology with our Laboratory Technician Traineeship. As a Laboratory Technician Trainee, you will work in a quality control laboratory, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of manufactured products. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Measuring and testing using precision equipment to check dimensions of manufactured parts and ensure product quality.
  • Calibrating measuring instruments to maintain precision.
  • Conducting load and package testing to assess product durability.
  • Ensuring compliance with quality standards.
  • Maintaining accurate records and reports.

About the Role

As a Laboratory Technician Trainee, you will be working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, where you will have the opportunity to develop your skills and gain hands-on experience in a laboratory setting. You will be working closely with a team of experienced professionals, who will provide you with guidance and support throughout your traineeship.

Key Responsibilities

As a Laboratory Technician Trainee, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Measuring and testing using precision equipment to check dimensions of manufactured parts and ensure product quality.
  • Calibrating measuring instruments to maintain precision.
  • Conducting load and package testing to assess product durability.
  • Ensuring compliance with quality standards.
  • Maintaining accurate records and reports.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Year 12 proficiency with high mathematics and literacy skills.
  • Mechanical aptitude and a keen interest in engineering or manufacturing.
  • High mathematical ability, able to perform accurate measurements and precise calculations.
  • High literacy skills, with great communication skills in verbal and written communication.
  • Strong attention to detail, able to identify insufficiencies with products to maintain high standards.
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team efficiently, with high levels of communication.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and quality standards under pressure.

What We Offer

We offer a 24-month traineeship, with a full-time role (38 hours per week), Monday to Friday. You will be allocated 3-hours paid study time to work towards completing your Certificate III in Laboratory Skills. This is an entry-level traineeship, and qualifications that exceed a Certificate III in Laboratory Skills will not be suitable.
