Engineering Manager, Commercial Products

The Commercial Products team at Nine Entertainment is responsible for managing a fleet of custom-built systems that support critical business functions. As an Engineering Manager, Commercial Products, you will play a key role in leading the team to deliver business outcomes through system improvements and new functionality.
Key Responsibilities:- Collaborate with engineering leadership to identify opportunities to improve practices and processes around engineering and delivery.
- Develop and maintain a strategy to deliver on business goals via system improvements and new functionality.
- Participate in and facilitate team ceremonies to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
- Contribute to the product roadmap by identifying opportunities for technical improvement that will deliver business value.
- Focus on team engagement and culture to drive a high-performing team.
As a leader, you will:
- Manage team performance according to a strategic framework of business outcomes and key responsibilities.
- Engage with team members through regular one-on-ones and other opportunities to discuss performance and career progression.
- Identify development and growth opportunities for team members to support their career advancement.
- Prior experience leading teams in a similar industry.
- Knowledge of strategic frameworks, including OKRs and other outcome-led performance frameworks.
- Effective communication and leadership skills.
- Strong capabilities in guiding ongoing improvements to Ways of Working and team practices.
- Excellent knowledge of DevOps principles and experience with effective implementation in an environment with low DevOps maturity.
- Experience working with large, inward-facing mission-critical systems.
- Industry experience with broadcast or streaming media beneficial but not required.
