We are seeking a highly skilled Strata Estimator to join our team at Johns Lyng Group. As a key member of our insurance building team, you will be responsible for estimating building reinstatement works, interpreting scope of works, and working closely with supervisors to achieve set budgets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Attend sites to estimate building reinstatement works
  • Interpret scope of works provided by consultants
  • Write scope of works documents when required
  • Work in conjunction with supervisors to achieve set budgets
  • Liaise with clients and insurers
  • Coordinate access to properties with insured parties
  • Liaise with and engage sub-contractors during quotation stage
  • Ensure all work conforms to legislative and contractual OH&S requirements
  • Ensure all inspections, certificates, and relevant documentation is signed off

Requirements:

  • Previous estimating experience required
  • Building trade/construction qualification advantageous
  • Insurance building background essential
  • Remedial building background ideal, but not essential
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Drive, energy, and highly motivated
  • Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities
  • Exceptional time management skills
  • Ability to build strong relationships and be empathetic to the needs of the client
  • Computer literacy - Microsoft Excel, Project, and Word
  • Familiarity with OHS practices, legislation, and regulations
  • Familiarity with current market rates and trades
  • Current motor vehicle license
