Job Description

Mount Isa Mines are currently seeking a Human Resources Manager to join their team. This role is residentially based in Mount Isa and offers a unique opportunity for a seasoned HR professional to make a meaningful impact.

Mount Isa is a thriving city, acting as the hub for regional business, transport, services and government in North West Queensland. The city offers an array of leisure activities, from dining and cinema to outdoor adventures like fishing and camping.

Mining operations play a significant role in the local economy, with Mount Isa Mines being one of the world's largest mining complexes. The company operates two mining and processing streams, copper and zinc-lead-silver, to deliver natural resources of enduring value in modern society.

The successful candidate will lead a team of HR professionals and collaborate closely with site leadership to ensure effective HR practices. They will be responsible for coaching and supporting our leadership team, managing onsite employee relations matters and training outcomes, as well as contributing to events that promote and support not only our employees, but also our local communities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team of HR professionals to provide high-quality HR services
  • Collaborate closely with site leadership to ensure effective HR practices
  • Coach and support our leadership team to achieve business objectives
  • Manage onsite employee relations matters and training outcomes
  • Contribute to events that promote and support our employees and local communities
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or a related field
  • Proven experience in HR management, preferably in the mining industry
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
