">Compliance Manager Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Compliance Officer to lead the development and maintenance of wholesale energy compliance frameworks aligned to National Energy Market (NEM) rules and industry best practices.

This role sits within our Energy Markets and Risk division, a high-performing function central to market operations and integrity.

The team operates in a complex, fast-paced environment shaped by evolving regulation, market reform, and digital transformation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and improve compliance and risk frameworks supporting wholesale energy operations.
  • Manage the Group's Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) platform for wholesale compliance, including obligations registers, breach reporting, control attestations, and risk analytics.
  • Act as the primary contact for regulatory bodies such as the Australian Energy Regulator (AER), Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO), Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) and state-based energy regulators.
Requirements and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Proven experience in compliance management, preferably in the wholesale energy sector.
  • Strong knowledge of NEM rules and regulations, as well as industry best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to design, implement, and maintain complex compliance frameworks.
  • Proficiency in GRC platforms and related tools.
