Claims Consultant Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Claims Consultant to manage a portfolio of general liability claims from start to finish.

  • The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in claims management, specifically in public liability and/or professional indemnity claims.
  • They must possess ANZIIF qualifications and strong exposure to claims involving third-party liability.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Managing a portfolio of general liability claims from inception to finalisation.
  • Interpreting policy wordings and applying accurately to ensure seamless claim handling.
  • Providing expert advice to insured clients on indemnity, liability, quantum, reserving, and settlement.
  • Liaising with third-party providers including solicitors, loss adjusters, brokers, and barristers.
  • Settling claims within client service instructions, company guidelines, and delegated authority.
  • Resolving complaints in accordance with company guidelines and identifying potential fraud/recovery indicators for claims where applicable.

  • Proficiency in PC literacy, including database and Microsoft Office.
