The Family Support Worker is a vital position that involves providing practical and emotional support to carer families in their homes. The role requires close collaboration with case workers to develop and implement plans that promote positive outcomes for families.
Key aspects of the job include assisting carers in accessing community groups, appointments, and activities, as well as supporting them in developing skills and knowledge to provide quality care for children.
This is an ongoing full-time position based in Port Hedland, WA, within our Intensive Family Support / Family Care Support Services Program. You will report to the Coordinator Pilbara Services.
Responsibilities- Provide in-home support to carer families, focusing on building relationships and trust.
- Assist carers in accessing resources, information, and services that empower them to provide quality care for children.
- Conduct ongoing assessments in consultation with case workers, ensuring the needs of the family are met.
- A deep understanding of Aboriginal culture and values.
- An appropriate qualification and/or experience in human services or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Knowledge of vulnerable children, young people, and families.
