As a key leader in primary school mental health and wellbeing initiatives, you will play a pivotal role in implementing context-relevant programs and interventions to promote student wellbeing.
About the RoleThe Royal Commission into Victoria's Mental Health System highlighted the importance of identifying children with mental health challenges in primary schools. Your proactive focus on prevention and assessment will create referral pathways for students who require treatment, care and support.
- You will collaborate with school leadership teams to inform teaching and learning strategies related to mental health and wellbeing, providing support to build capabilities in embedding evidence-based programs.
- You will work closely with the school community to establish clear referral pathways for students requiring assessment and intervention, monitoring and evaluating student progress.
This initiative is part of a statewide approach to having every primary school employ a Mental Health and Wellbeing Leader by 2026.
About YouWe are seeking an experienced educator with a strong understanding of mental health and wellbeing principles. Your ability to influence the work of others involved in engagement, mental health, wellbeing or learning of children and young people will be essential in this role.
