Job Summary

We are seeking a seasoned Communications and Engagement Specialist to lead our efforts in engaging with impacted communities during major redevelopment projects. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of developing and implementing effective communication strategies, managing diverse stakeholder relationships, and providing strategic advice to senior stakeholders.

About the Role
  • This is a pivotal role in ensuring that community and project outcomes are continually improved.
  • You will develop and implement place-based communication and engagement strategies for construction and delivery projects across Victoria's redevelopment precincts.
  • Collaborate with program-wide communication and engagement teams to align localised strategies with broader social licence objectives.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement communication and engagement strategies that meet the needs of diverse stakeholders.
  • Provide strategic advice to senior stakeholders on project-specific communication challenges and opportunities.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate multidisciplinary discussions and ensure effective communication during infrastructure delivery and redevelopment.
Requirements
  • At least 5 years of experience leading communications and engagement for major projects in the government, not for profit or private sector.
  • Proven ability to manage diverse stakeholder relationships, including contractors, senior stakeholders, community groups, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, influencing, and collaboration skills to resolve issues and drive outcomes in complex, high-risk, high-pressure environments.
  • Knowledge of best practice in infrastructure communication, managing localised disruption and change, understanding of Victoria's planning legislation, PPPs and engagement frameworks.
