The Australian Government is implementing a Scams Prevention Framework (SPF) and intends for AFCA to be the External Dispute Resolution scheme operator for scam complaints under the framework. AFCA has established a program to expand and operationalise this new jurisdiction related to banks, telecommunication service providers and digital platform providers.
This role will lead the design and implementation of strategic communications and brand initiatives that align with the program's objectives and AFCA's values. Reporting into the Project Workstream Lead, you will support the Scams EDR Program by developing and delivering a comprehensive Communications and Brand Business Plan. This position will also provide expert advice to senior stakeholders, manage procurement and brand implementation, and ensure all communications are strategic, consistent, and impactful. **_This is initially a 12-month contract opportunity. _**
Key responsibilities include:
- ** Program Launch**: Lead planning and execution of the SPF EDR launch, including events, media, collateral, and stakeholder engagement.
- ** Digital Presence**: Oversee SPF's web and digital content, ensuring accessibility and user experience within AFCA platforms.
- ** Stakeholder Collaboration**: Work with regulators and policy partners to co-develop and align public messaging and campaigns.
- ** Integrated Communications**: Deliver multi-channel communications strategies across digital, social, internal, and stakeholder platforms.
- ** Awareness Strategy**: Design and support a national awareness strategy, clarifying messaging responsibilities across sectors.
- ** Vendor Management**: Commission and manage external creative and content vendors to meet strategic and quality goals.
- ** Content Development**: Create and review key communication materials, including brand assets, messaging guides, FAQs, and stakeholder education content.
- ** Strategic Advice**: Provide expert communications and brand advice to senior leaders, including media and executive support.
- ** Performance Monitoring**: Evaluate engagement outcomes and campaign effectiveness using data and insights.
- ** Risk Management**: Identify and manage brand and reputational risks, escalating as needed.
**Qualifications**
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- ** Strategic Communications Expertise**: Extensive experience in strategic communications and brand management, ideally in high-profile or regulated environments.
- ** Hands-on Content Development**: Comfortable contributing directly to writing, editing, and content creation, with strong executional skills.
- ** Brand**:Deep understanding of brand architecture and reputation management, with a track record of building credible and enduring brand frameworks.
- ** Campaign Delivery**: Skilled in designing and executing multi-channel campaigns tailored to diverse audiences across digital, social, stakeholder, and traditional media.
- ** Digital Experience**: Proven experience leading website and digital asset development, including managing external suppliers to deliver accessible, user-friendly solutions.
- ** Stakeholder Collaboration**: Strong ability to work with regulators and policy teams to align messaging and navigate complex governance processes.
- ** Leadership & Influence**: Demonstrated leadership and influencing skills, with experience advising senior executives and leading cross-functional teams.
- ** Communication Excellence**: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex information clearly and accurately.
- ** Strategic Thinking**: Forward-thinking with the ability to anticipate risks and opportunities and deliver timely, high-quality communications solutions.
- ** Agility & Delivery**: Able to thrive in fast-paced, uncertain environments, managing competing priorities within a project framework.
