As a seasoned AI leader, you will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end execution of our prestigious Residency Program. This esteemed program brings together top academic talent from around the world to collaborate on groundbreaking AI research.

The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background in AI and a proven track record of success in managing complex projects and leading high-performing teams. You will be responsible for selecting and greenlighting projects that demonstrate novelty and long-term impact, as well as mentoring residents throughout their program.

A key component of this role is maintaining the quality of research and ensuring seamless coordination with internal research teams. Additionally, you will serve as the primary point of contact for external relationships with universities and research groups.

To excel in this position, you must possess excellent strategic judgment, a strong publication record in top AI/ML venues, and exceptional communication skills that enable you to work effectively with both academic researchers and industry engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Run the AI Residency Program end-to-end, ensuring smooth operations and high-impact outcomes.
  • Select and greenlight projects in consultation with our research leadership.
  • Guide and mentor residents throughout their program.
  • Maintain research quality and coordinate with internal research teams.
  • Represent the program externally, building relationships with universities and research groups.

Requirements:

  • A senior academic researcher with deep expertise in AI and a broad understanding of the field's directions.
  • Experience in supervising PhD-level research and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • A strong publication record in top AI/ML venues.
  • Strong strategic judgment in choosing projects and people that balance novelty with long-term impact.
  • A confident communicator who can work seamlessly with both academic researchers and industry engineers.
