We are seeking a passionate professional to join our team in the role of Environmental Health Specialist. This exciting opportunity will see you working closely with our Health, Safety and Training Superintendent to develop and implement effective safety and environmental systems.
The successful candidate will have a strong interest in learning about health, safety and environment legislation acts, regulations, codes of practice and standards. They will be experienced in conducting workplace inspections, reporting on hazards and risks, and participating in toolbox talks and safety meetings.
As an Environmental Health Specialist, you will play a key role in promoting safe work practices and environmental awareness among our team. You will also be responsible for assisting with the development and maintenance of our Health and Safety Management system.
This is a unique opportunity to grow and develop alongside our elite team of service providers. We are looking for someone who is highly organized, has excellent written and verbal communication skills, and is able to work effectively in a dynamic environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting with the development and maintenance of our Health and Safety Management system
- Participating in conducting workplace inspections and reporting on any hazard or risk
- Participating and contributing to toolbox talks and safety meetings
- Promoting safe work practices and environmental awareness among the team
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience in the disciplines of health, safety and environment
- A strong interest in learning about health, safety and environment legislation acts, regulations, codes of practice and standards
- Operating knowledge of heavy plant and equipment, or environmental monitoring equipment
- An intermediate to high level of computer literacy and software skills
- A high level of attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills
